SALIENT LAUNCH

Hello there! The Salient Scale Shop is now OPEN for business! 

This is something I've always wanted to do and the timing was just right. Back in 2017, I started Salient as a streetwear company, screen printing shirts out of my garage in Daly City, California. After a faithful college project, I learned that I actually love making scale stuff like action figure clothes, dioramas, and RC cars. Fast forward to 2024 and now I'm doing a bit of both! Super excited to share all the designs I've created for this launch, and hope you enjoy them as well.

Let’s break down what we got going on:

1. SCALE SHOP: It’s in the name right? If you love miniatures of any kind, then you know that accessories and detail is key! That’s why I created a ton of custom scale items that are 3D printed and sent to you! I design them using a program called Shapr3D, then print the prototypes using an FDM Elegoo Neptune 3D printer. The prints you receive are actually printed and shipped from a third party called Slant3D, and they’re awesome!
   
   
2. APPAREL: Like I mentioned earlier, I LOVE making graphics for shirts and have a huge passion for design in general. One thing I noticed about the scale community was the lack of cool looking graphic tees that weren’t fully cheesy. My goal for this line is to create tons of dope looking graphics for scale lovers and miniature enthusiasts. And no, I don’t use artificial intelligence for ANY of the illustrations. I start by drawing the illustration on my iPad using an app called Procreate, then I vectorize and add type to the design in Adobe Illustrator. I love drawing robots and droids but I don’t like them drawing for me.
   
   
3. GRAPHIC TEMPLATES: With these Adobe Illustrator templates, you can design your own liveries for vehicles like Kaneda’s iconic bike and the classic Delorean! This is something that’s really geared (pun intended) toward the designers. You will need a basic understanding of Illustrator to navigate the template, but it’s super easy once you start to play with it. After some time, you’ll start really customizing the template even further like changing glow color, adding patterns, and even adding parts! Endless fun.
   
   
4. 1 of 1 SCALE ITEMS: This is the page you go to for super-exclusive, hand-crafted, ridiculously awesome custom items. This is where I’ll be posting custom RC Drift bodies, custom action figures, early prototypes, concrete fingerboard obstacles, and other unique items that only you will own. Made for people that really want a slice of the journey and stand out amongst the crowd.
   
   
5. DRIFT MATS: As kids, we all had that carpet with little streets on it for our hot wheels. As adults, it’s about time we bring that back. I designed these mouse pads to look like a miniature drift track for 1/64 scale cars! Now you can have crazy tandem battles on work calls while your boss worries about ROI or whatever. Sometimes I even use my mouse as the car. These are also great for PIT MATS at RC tracks!

I truly hope you enjoy the initial items I’ve created for the launch, and there will be SO MUCH MORE to come! This may very well be the culmination of everything I’ve learned so far, and the journey is just starting. Stay tuned to see how I plan to scale this business. Literally.
